This restaurant is situated is the least expected place. It is at the back of a house housing an NGO called The Temple of Fine Arts. TOFA is a non profit organization is promoting Indian classical cultural dance and music. The sign itself make no mention of a restaurant.
This restaurant is mainly vegetarian. I went there for lunch with a friend. It has a buffet line of vegetarian food beautifully presented. It as all the Indian favourites from tosai to Bryrani rice to dhal curry to pampadam to Indian soup and dessert. The food is tasty and has a balanced spiciness. Same to the drinks, from pulled tea to yogurt drink.
The ambience is nice (Indian deco) and clean (enter the restaurant without shoe). Very international customers from Chinese to Indians to Caucasion expatriates. It is eat all you can.......but wait, there is no menu, no price....so how much for an Indian Vegetarian Set Lunch?.....it is pay as you like concept. You pay for what you think your food (drinks included) is worth. All the monies collected is for charity........to help the poorest of poor and to help pay some some poor person's medical bill. So pay more if you can...it will help your Karma.
I really recommend you this place. I heard it is open for dinner too but dinner menu is ala-carte and it has a price tag...so says my friend.
