Wine & Dine at Sarkies Corner

My Ratings: 5 Stars

Cuisine: International
Location: Eastern & Oriental Hotel, Penang
Halal
From RM114 per person

I had such a wonderful buffet executive lunch last month that I went back to good old Sarkies Corner to try out its "Wine & Dine" Weekend Buffet dinner. Tell you what..... I wasn't disappointed at all. In fact, I enjoyed the weekend buffet even more.

Oh My God! the food choices is so much that we took a full three hours to finish our dinner. Started the dinner with a glass of free flow wine and slowly worked towards the salads. OMG! I think there must be more than 10 salad dressings to cater to every winps of a true salad aficionado. I had baby rockets, coral salads, lettuce and many more greens

The seafood selection is unbelievable........ deep fried baby soft shelled crabs, raw salmon, fresh scallops, grilled whole fish served with their special sour sambal sauce with a hint of belacan. Heaven! Of course rock oysters served raw and kilpatrick style (Cheese, Worcestershire sauce and turkey bacon baked together) are also a staple. The best way to eat raw oyster is with a squeeze of freshly cut lemon wedge and 2 dashes of Tabasco sauce.......slurped in one go.....what an experience!!

Other delicacies are lamb with specially made fresh mint sauce, BBQ duck with hoisin sauce, steak, roast beef and other roasts. I like the lamb with mint sauce and its BBQ duck. Unforgettable and drilled to kill!

And the best for last is the desserts. Just like its lunch packages, the desserts are fine made individually with passion of the pastry chef. Pleasing for the eye and palate. Cap the dinner with freshly ground espresso and a selection of cheeses and enjoy the ambiance and entertainment of the "Los Cantores" strumming and humming golden oldies of Matt Monroe, Chubby Checker and Los Lobos. At the end of the night, I think I must have drunk a bottle of wine. Don't drink beer coz you need room for all the great food.

I recommend this buffet. Book ahead (+604--222 2000 ext 3175) as this buffet is popular. Request a table far from buffet counters and enjoy the night. Only of Fridays and Saturdays. Buffet open from 7-10:30pm. Children at RM46++ while adult pays RM99++ per pax.
