I saw the advert on the restaurant door that it serve the best original fish & chips. I am a fan of good ole fish & chip since my high school days in Sydney where I usually go to the corner Lebanese food shop to get my lunch of either Donner Kebab with generous Tabbouleh or Fish & Chip with vinegar on chips. Yum!

So I am game for a traditional fish and chips. The restaurant is cozy and family oriented as evident by the color children's drawings on the wall. The menu has sufficient food items on it to balance variety and freshness of the ingredients from salads, soups, appetisers, mains and deserts

The restaurant's owner Christopher Tan and co-owner and close friend Lee Swen Lin decided to open the restaurant and introduce the true taste of fish and chips which Chris fell in love with while he was in Perth studying.

The fish & chips is cooked either crumbed or beer battered and served with chips, green garden salad and homemade Tartar sauce. I ordered mine battered as I wanted a lighter meal. I also ordered all my favourites like Cesar's Salad, Pan Seared Salmon Steak on a bed of couscous, Deep Fried Squid and Caramelised Pear with Mango ice-cream for dessert.

The fish and chips is good, fresh and well prepared. The Cesar's Salad is good too and prepared is right way... with romaine lettuce, that is. However the Deep Fried Squid was extremely salty and we could eat any more than 1 piece and had to return to the kitchen. Chris was kind to replace it with Deep Fried Calamari Rings which was much better. So the key learning to the chef is to always taste the food before going out to the customer

The tru-blu down under way to enjoy a great fish & chips meal is with tartar sauce and malt vinegar to go with the potato chips. Yes, vinegar! Usually the fish is fried in beer batter and chips slightly salted. Leave the Vegimite at home please, mate!

The portion is sufficient and the prices are reasonable. Ingredients are fresh and of quality. The dishes are well prepared and decorated which is both pleasing to the eyes and palate. If you want a traditional beer battered fish & chips, this is definitely the place to go to. Business hours are from 11:30am - 2:30pm (lunch) and 6:30pm - 10:30pm (dinner). Closed on Monday. 3. Hi Marina,

At the moment, we are using pink snapper (kalak/biji nangka) for all our fish and chips. We stay away totally from dory. Alternatively, we have other options like garoupa and codfish to suit your preference. Do check us out.

    Alan,
Thanks for posting our restaurant on your blog. When you have the chance to visit us next, we hope you try our chicken and meat dishes.
    Cheers.
